Often that which we wouldn't choose for ourselves is the very medicine that our distracted and weary souls require. This gospel album was born from a place like that. Reoriented and brought low by a broken neck, I was shaped in ways I would not form for myself. Under the pressure of trial and loss, I began to see brokenness as a refuge where I could wait for the Lord, knowing that "a broken and contrite heart He will not despise." Too often brokenness is viewed as loathful; a place from which to escape rather than of a place of promise.

Brokenness is a city of refuge surrounded by promise where we may wait with great hope for the faithfulness of God.

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise” Psalm 51:17

"I know how to be brought now, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:12-13
